Webber celebrates as Monaco win secures future

Webber celebrates as Monaco win secures future

Mark Webber took no time in deciding how best to celebrate and cool off after winning Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix - he dived into the Red Bull team's swimming pool in the harbour in his full racing overalls.

The last time the team had a similar cause for celebration team chief Christian Horner leapt into the water with just a Superman cape to hide his modesty.

This time, he also stayed fully-clothed to celebrate a win that looks almost certain to have secured the 33-year-old Australian's future and confirmed Red Bull are the hot favourites for this year's championships.

Webber has delivered back to back wins in Spain and Monaco and both in such style that if Red Bull were to consider letting him go at the end of the season, there would be a queue of top teams ready to take him on.

His form, in short, has been so stunning that on Sunday he blitzed the highly-rated wunderkind Sebastian Vettel, his team-mate into early submission, on a circuit where the 22-year-old German was expected to shine.
